God is Building

Bush Youth

Bush Youth is a youth club run by St Simon's Church, aiming to welcome and love all local young people, year 7-13.

It runs every Friday night during term time @ St Simon's Church, Shepherds Bush, London. We offer positive activities for young people, support and a meal each week together.

We have activities from street dance, magic and football to cooking, photography and bike maintenance- and we're always trying out new things...

Each week at 7.30pm we sit down and share a meal and chat together. Our aim is to form a positive community to belong to, and it really does feel like one big family (especially when there is squabbling at the table over ketchup...)

We are entirely run by volunteers and supported by the church and donations. Most, but not all, of the volunteers are members of St Simon's Church. We welcome applications from anyone to be a volunteer, you don't have to be a 'church' person- just have to love hanging out with young people and able to commit to 2 Fridays a month.

We hope to develop our work further with parents of young people too- our aim is to support the whole family as young people grow up with the pressures and challenges of living in inner city London.

We are also hoping to develop a Bush Youth Boxing Club- watch this space!

Bush Youth seeks to serve local young people
and their families by:
creating a sense of community and belonging;
empowering them to make positive life choices;
and modelling a better way of living.

It has been running since 18th September 2009.
